Artist's Description

The "faces" of phalaenopsis orchids fascinate me and these Maki Wantanabe have a beautiful blush color. The sunlight hitting them in my garden drew me to this painting. This is the first botanical I have painted in oil and I love the manipulation of the paint into the veins, blush coloring and highlights. The leaves with their burgundy edges sink into the background showcasing the orchids themselves. To see how this painting was done go to my website at www.jlgarcia-artist.com.
