This painting has been selected for the NOAPS Best of America Small Painting National Exhibition at the Richland Fine Art Gallery in Nashville, TN. It will be on display from April 30th to May 26, 2018. Cattleya Lc. Love Fantasy "Sweet Dreams"; A Cattleya Alliance hybrid with a simple fragrance, attar of rose that lingers past dusk. Upon bringing these orchids indoors I set them in a south facing window. The early morning sunrise illuminated them with a beautiful soft light. The morning fragrance added to the atmosphere. The original gallery wrapped canvas makes these orchids appear to float on the wall and using oils for this painting gives it a rich warmth. About Joan Garcia
An artist in the Tampa Bay area, Joan has artwork in corporate and private collections nationally and internationally. Having lived in Miami, Costa Rica, Texas, and finally returning to Florida, she has been working professionally in fine art and portraiture for over 40 years. Having participated in numerous shows she has won both patron, People's Choice and Best of Show awards. Her body of work stretches from realistic landscapes and still life paintings in oil and acrylic to portraits in colored pencil.
