Artist's Description
When we lived in the Miami we often saw pelicans sitting in the mangroves near our sailboat. The Brown Pelican is a white and gray bird, but often gets a yellowish wash in adult birds. It is difficult to tell male from female hence this title. The juvenile is similar but has a brownish-gray neck and white underparts.
Previously endangered they are now delisted due to their recovery. You can see them everywhere on the shores of AMI; diving for fish, sitting in the mangroves or skimming just above the surface of the water. This painting is for sale, contact the artist directly for purchase information.
